This is a critical role that will hire and lead a small team (a data engineer and a data visualization specialist) to turn Penn’s cutting-edge computational research and unique media data into visual stories, tools, dashboards, repeated analyses, and other data products that support pro-democracy organizations and outcomes. The goal is to develop meaningful tools and disseminate a better base of knowledge to drive societal and policy change, working with the rest of Penn MEDIATED.

The ideal candidate is an experienced data scientist or computational social scientist, with an interest in media and information technology and a passionate commitment to a healthier U.S. democracy.

Salary up to $125K/year; great Penn benefits; located in Amy Gutmann Hall on Penn’s campus in Philadelphia (Tu/W/Th in-person, M/F remote).
